Leigh Halfpenny voted Intersport Scarlets player of month for December

Rob Lloyd News

Nearly six and a half thousand of you voted and it was Leigh Halfpenny who emerged on top as the Intersport Scarlets player of the month for December.

The Wales and Lions full-back polled 53% of the fans vote, edging out fly-half Angus O’Brien. Forwards Uzair Cassiem and Sam Lousi were the other contenders for the award.

Leigh returned from World Cup duty to make an instant impact in a Scarlets jersey.

Outstanding in the away win in Bayonne, he followed that up with an impressive performance in the home victory over the French side and his standards remained high throughout the festive derbies.

Leigh follows scrum-half Kieran Hardy (October) and Josh Macleod (November) as the previous monthly winners.
