Uncapped Scarlets centre Eddie James has been called up to the Wales senior men’s training squad for the 2024 summer fixtures, taking the total number of players to 37.
The 21-year-old from Carmarthen is the fifth uncapped player named in the squad alongside Jacob Beetham and Ellis Bevan (both Cardiff Rugby), Keelan Giles (Ospreys) and Josh Hathaway (Gloucester Rugby).
Wales face South Africa in an away fixture at Twickenham Stadium on June 22 before heading for Australia on June 26 to play two Test matches against the Wallabies and a fixture against the Queensland Reds.
An updated squad of 34 players who will travel to Australia will be confirmed following the Springboks encounter.
James has enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the Scarlets and was presented with the Coaches’ Breakthrough Player of the Season award at our recent end-of-season dinner.
