Scarlets U17s run in the tries in double win

Scarlets U17s enjoyed the double over their Ospreys rivals in their opening age-grade clashes of the campaign.

In front of a good crowd at Parc y Scarlets training field, Scarlets East beat Ospreys West 40-12.

Full-back Dylan Callender, hooker Harry Thomas and prop Joshua Morse crossed for tries – all converted by fly-half Sam Potter – to ensure the home side were in control 21-5 at the break. The Scarlets’ dominance continued in the second period with centre Corey Morgan, wing Matthew Williams and lock Jac Gaines adding further tries, two of which were converted by Potter.

At St Clears RFC, Scarlets West ran in 10 tries in an emphatic 62-17 victory.

Centre Macs Page crossed for a hat-trick, prop Alfie Fecci-Evans touched down twice, while centre James Price,wing  Gethin Davies, replacement Steffan Jac Jones, full-back Harry Fuller, and hooker Mason Lees also got on the scoresheet,. Fuller (4), Page and Jones also added conversion to their personal tally.

Both sides go again next Wednesday against the Ospreys with Scarlets East taking on Ospreys East at, while Scarlets West lock horns with Ospreys West.
