Scarlets staff members have completed a gruelling challenge walking the stunning west Wales coastline, raising more than £2,500 for the Scarlets Community Foundation.

A nine-strong team made up of the Foundation, stadium and rugby departments took on two marathons across two sun-baked days, racking up 52 miles in all (with a 6,000 feet elevation), walking for 10 hours each day.

In temperatures of 25 degrees plus, the team started off from Aberaeron harbour, heading to Ceredigion’s popular seaside town of New Quay before walking the undulating cliffside path across to Llangrannog.

After a photo with the sculpture of Saint Carannog that stands on the cliff overlooking Llangrannog, they took the path to Aberporth before finishing at the picturesque medieval chapel that overlooks the beautiful beach of Mwnt.

A huge thanks to Crymych RFC for providing overnight hospitality at the rugby club, allowing everyone to freshen up and recharge for the second leg of the challenge across Pembrokeshire’s award-winning coastline.

Starting off at Manobier in the shadow of the castle, the route headed to Lydstep Cove, across to Tenby, Saundersfoot, Amroth and onto the famous Pendine Sands.

That left one final push to Laugharne, finishing off by Laugharne Castle with an incredible 52 miles in the bag.

The Foundation would like to thank everyone who supported the team along the way, those who donated to the cause and those who chatted to the walkers along the path.
