Scarlets suffered their first defeat of the Guinness PRO14 season, going down to a 46-7 defeat to Edinburgh at Murrayfield on Saturday night.

Head coach Brad Mooar spoke to the media after the game.

Here’s his reaction to the result.

“If you can wrap everything that could go wrong into one performance, that was it,” he said.

“We will come back in on Monday, like we have done in the last three games and look at the reasons for things we can get better at and work hard at those. It won’t be too hard, there will be a fair bit of motivation this week.

“Early on, we weren’t at the races and gave them opportunities, it is little moments that add up and all of a sudden they got a roll on and we looked pretty flat so that’s something we can easily rectify and make sure we have a spring in our step for next week.

“We were fighting back and I thought we scored a really nice try in the first half that was disallowed and things might have been a little bit different. We were fighting hard in the second half as well, but in the back end they just rolled over the top.”

Mooar added: “It is a tough old pill to swallow, but sometimes you have just got to take your medicine and usually when you take your medicine you get better. So, it’s a good week ahead.”

Scarlets resume PRO14 action on Saturday when they take on Toyota Cheetahs at Parc y Scarlets, kick-off 3pm.
